The Greek Empire

The Greek Empire was established in a very remarkable manner. Alexander the Great, at a young age, set out on a long campaign. His armies were practically invincible. Everywhere they went they were victorious. Alexander the Great eventually got to the borders of India. At this point one of his commanders approached Alexander stating that the men were tired at having been away from home for so long. Even though victorious, they would go no further. Alexander headed back towards Egypt. But he was not to make it alive. Dead from a tropical disease he was only 33 years old.

As he was nearing death his generals asked who would succeed him since Alexander had no son. He responded that the kingdom would go to the strongest. This led to infighting with eventually 4 generals carving out 4 provinces of the Greek empire.

Dan. 7:6 After this I beheld, and lo another, like a leopard, which had upon the back of it four wings of a fowl; the beast had also four heads; and dominion was given to it.
