As the "father of the faithful", Abrahams life nicely parallels the other stories.

The overall story is about God's promise to Abraham of an heir. This promise Abraham tries to fulfill himself but to no avail. Ultimately though God is able to fulfill his promise in a very miraculous way and it is clear that Abraham was not the one ultimately responsible for the successful conclusion.

In the story of Abraham there is no strong episode in which God reveals himself to Abraham and Abraham experiences deep repentence.
